Q. Why was the RISC Agent Alliance formed?

First and foremost RISC was formed to help collateral recovery agents improve their bottom line through a variety of services which includes risk management training, collateral recovery training, professional certification, locksmith training, locksmith supplies, key codes, job placement and recruitment services, and business consulting. Seeing an even greater need to service our customers RISC created the RISC Agent Alliance which provides said services along with additional services, like the $1 Million Client Protection Bond, thus saving the agency owner money and improving their bottom line.

Only those who have joined the RISC Agent Alliance will receive discounts to our programs. However, since RISC is an Industry advocate and service entity we will assist any professional who services the collateral recovery market regardless of geography or affiliation.

Q. How is RISC Agent Alliance different from trade associations?

There is a major difference. RISC Agent Alliance is not a trade association or marketing association; it is a business Alliance designed to help every professional practitioner by providing products and services. Industry trade associations do an outstanding job in marketing and advocating on behalf of their members, and we encourage all agents to participate and be active in available organizations.

As a business alliance, RISC Agent Alliance is complementary to industry trade associations. RISC Agent Alliance is just what the name implies: an alliance of agency owners who seek assistance in risk management through training, business consulting, deep discounts to our programs, and vendor interaction. Profits and bottom line growth are dependent on the recovery agency owner and RISC is available to help as much or as little as needed.

Q. Does a RISC Agent Alliance have a protected territory?

No. RISC Agent Alliance is not a marketing or trade association and thus there are no territorial considerations or restrictions. Rather, it is an Alliance of recovery agency owners who service the collateral recovery market nationwide. RISC is focused on giving Alliance members the tools to become more competitive, more successful, more profitable, and safer operators. Consequently, because the Alliance is focused on providing tools and not territory or exclusivity, RISC does not address proximity. Alliance membership is open to any professional collateral recovery agency owner who can meet the stringent requirements of RISC so long as they adhere to RISC’s code of ethics and By-Laws.

Q. Will RISC market and advertise my business if I become a RISC Agent Alliance member?

The answer is NO. We are not a marketing organization or advertising medium and as such we will not produce a publication or have favored online listings. However, one of our primary missions is to provide our members with the most up to date and effective tools to increase market share. For strategic marketing of your business we recommend you join one of the industry trade associations. As a strong believer in active Industry participation we offer a discount into the Agent Alliance if a recovery company is bonded through an industry trade organization. Your company cannot be searched and found on the RISC website without your permission through your unique Alliance identifier.

Our goal at RISC is to provide the professional practitioner the additional tools to prove your professional competency to your client and prospective clients. It’s up to the agency owner to differentiate his operation from competition.

Q. Does RISC endorse a particular product or service, or does it have a preferred vendor program?

RISC encourages the agency owner to make the best decision for himself regarding the service needed. To that end RISC has advertisers on the website but does not favor one service provider over another. We encourage advertising on the RISC website so agency owners can obtain the services they need directly from a vendor. We do, however, feel the numerous advertisers on the website offer the best opportunity for the recovery agency owner to receive the service desired at the best price.

One of our primary goals is to bring as many service providers as possible to the market to compete for business, thereby offering the best service at the best price. Therefore we have developed categories segmented by service or product at http://www.riscus.com/industry_services.htm for soliciting bids. Once you contact RISC, our staff will go to work to provide you with the service(s) you need. In the end we rely on the collateral recovery agency owner’s business decisions in evaluating and selecting the right companies and vendors for their business.

Q. What does it cost for an agency owner to become a member of RISC Agent Alliance?

Remember, RISC is a service entity and as such we will provide services to both agents and agency owners. However, to become a member of RISC Agent Alliance you must be an agency owner. Once you become a RISC Agent Alliance member you receive a $1 Million Client Protection Bond, 15% discount off the retail price to any service we offer including the Certified Asset Recovery Specialist (CARS) Program and Continuing Education Programs, Key Codes, Key Blanks, Locksmith training, etc. By utilizing our services your membership could essentially be free. There is an annual subscription fee of $1395.00 and an initial $195.00 application fee to determine qualification.

To qualify, you must not have had an insurance policy or bond cancelled or denied or presently charged or convicted of any felony within the past 5 years. And the owner/applicant is required to be C.A.R.S. certified.

If the agency owner can show a valid bond through another recognized Industry trade association RISC will discount your annual membership over 40 percent. Your annual membership will be $795.00.

Further, by utilizing our services, membership could essentially be free. As an example, in one year you utilize our C.A.R.S. National Certification Program by purchasing four programs. You would save $180.00 off the retail price. Then you purchase 4 Continuing Education Courses. You would save an additional $59.40 off the retail price. And finally, you utilize our key code service by ordering ten codes at the retail price of $14.00 per code per month. Annually, that is 120 codes at a per code savings of $2.10 for a total savings of $252.00. Total annual savings for just these services is $491.40. Therefore your annual Agent Alliance membership subscription is really $903.60, which includes the $1 Million Client Protection Bond. If you were to purchase the bond individually it would cost between $1000.00 to $1500.00.
